Greetings!

This season of living a wee bit more slowly and intentionally is teaching me so much--so very, very much! My inner space--that precious part of me that becomes so fragmented within the exuberant dance of summer--rests into itself, broadening and deepening as it settles home.

My senses come newly alive to the wonder of all around me. The muted colors of fall allow the textures of life to shine, and the earthy smell of summer’s debris returning home to nourish the soil fills me with hope for next year’s abundance.

The dry grasses and seed pods of the prairie sing of times past and dreams labyrinth entrancepresent and future, in a chorus of rhythms in which the spaces between the notes are the melody. My heartbeat slows to absorb the spaces, and my soul fills. It is good…oh, so good!

This harvest season, as I count my blessings, I add--right up front!--the joy of sharing my spiritual journey with my Soul Sisters. Although I am introverted with a capital “I” and frequently choose a solitary walk, the delight I have discovered with this group of amazing women is boundless. The journey is rich...oh, so rich!

Soul Sisters, our year long program of intentional spiritual growth and companionship, was midwifed carefully and with great intention. It is a program of deep nurture and support--where each woman is fully welcomed wherever she is on her spiritual journey, and fully supported wherever this journey may lead.

Soul Sisters welcomes a nSoul Sistersew group in January.  If you are looking for a committed group of women with whom to share your journey, please consider this program as a gift to yourself! Each quarter we meet three times--once for a meal and conversation, once for a day-long retreat, and once for individual spiritual direction/companionship.  We read spiritually-rich books together and support each other in prayer.

Also, participants are invited to enjoy an overnight personal retreat at Soul of the Prairie once during the year.

Many of the 2010 Soul Sisters are continuing the journey in 2011, so we will be hosting two groups this year! As a 2010 Soul Sister wrote, “I cannot express in words how much Soul Sisters has meant to me. It has been a big inspiration and source of support in my life. Not a day goes by when I do not think of our group!”

More information about Soul Sisters has been posted to the "Soul Sisters" page of our website.  Just click here to dance right to it!

Overnight lodging is available on a first come basis for an additional fee.

Cost for the year-long program is $540. A deposit of $60 is required to hold your place. Please contact me with questions and to register.  Registration for the 2011 program closes December 1.

And now, Behold! the Really Big News!

cuppingcandlesmallTrish and Richard Bruxvoort Colligan (AKA The River’s Voice) are returning to Soul of the Prairie this Advent with their Behold! Day Retreat and Concert and we couldn’t be more delighted!

As Richard writes, “It’s getting dark and cold in the Midwest about now. As we feel the longing for light and transformation, let’s not rush it. There are gifts here in the dark.  his may be a moment to bend over your life and whisper, “Behold!”  for all the mystery that is emerging in you.”

Join Trish and Richard for a day of breathing deeply into the season.  Restful music, drumming, labyrinth walking, stories, candlelight...

The concert, which will be held in the mellow space of The Roost, will take you to the deepest places within where the Holy dwells - well, and also keep you groaning and laughing at Richard's bad jokes :o)

Feel welcome to visit their website, http://www.RiversVoice.com to sample their beautiful music, and be introduced to their wonderful spirits.
